Vintage glasses, retro glasses, antique glasses, whatever you want to call it they basically mean old glasses. Some people like to collect them, some people think they are just junk and some like to wear them. What type are you? I would class myself as the collector, I like to appreciate them and just keep them in a safe place where I can’t break them. If I wear it I will be too scared they will fall off my face or something.
If I am honest I don’t actually have many vintage glasses, I haven’t really got into collecting them yet but then again I think I haven’t seen something I really love – yet! At the moment there are so many retro style frame coming out and of course they are all new but it is quite funny that designers are effectively re-producing frames style that already exist?
I saw these the other day in a market stall and sometime when I see glasses at a market stall I am unsure how vintage they are? Do you know what I mean? What class as a vintage frame for one and secondly what makes a good vintage frame? I really need some expert advice on this. From the 5 I saw (the photo above) what seems like vintage to me is the optical frame and the sunglasses right at the top. but of course I could be wrong.
I need some expert advice on this, I want to know what to look for in a frame that makes them vintage and where is the best place to go for genuining vintage frame? I would like to start collecting some because not that I have enough glasses already or anything 😉 On that note I am off to the launch party of Taylor Morris Eyewear and will be bringing you the coverage tomorrow! In the mean time have a read of this from yesterday which will give you a sneak peak.
