Christmas 2013 is all over and hasn’t it gone quick? Don’t you just wish it could stay a little longer so we have an excuse to stay away from work and carry on eating until we are sick?! How was your Christmas and are you all back at work yet? I have been doing a half day today just so I can work on issue 4 of the MGAM magazine which is of course due to come out mid Jan! This Christmas was a nice and quiet one for my husband and I. Since we are still technically newly weds we decided we wanted to spend Christmas in our new pad, just the two of us and you know what? It really was the best Christmas ever! Sometimes during Christmas I feel everyone always feels obliged to be all family orientated and it’s all about spending time with family but the word “family” does mean different things to different people. I believe we should not put so much pressure onto ourselves about family and just enjoy Christmas which ever way floats our boat.
For me being Chinese, Christmas has never been a big deal for me, for us it is all about Chinese New Year so every Christmas spending time with my friends is how I roll. In my previous post I said i just knew I would get something glasses related from one of my friends and you know what? I was right! One of my friends did indeed buy me something glasses related as my Christmas present! Hahaha! It is a vintage glasses brooch, very cute I have to say and I love it! 😉
What presents did you all get? I hope santa all got you something nice but lets face the fact, no matter what each year I bet we all get something we don’t really want (or like). Every year that certainly happens to me and it is always from the same person. I am not going to say who it is on here just incase they read my blog and I don’t want to be slating their gifts in public- it’s not really nice it is. Let’s just say the presents I get every year are pretty much not suitable for my age (eg.I feel they are for the over 60’s and I am certainly not at that age bracket yet). The worst thing is I never find good use with the stuff I get given.
How do you tell someone that gets your presents wrong every year without offending or hurting their feelings? It is a moral dilemma! I know to some I may sound really ungrateful but the way I see it is what is the point of that person wasting money on something that you are never going to use and just ends up in the bin? It is such a waste of money and I get no enjoyment out of it. What would you do? Give me some ideas to help me get a better Christmas gift next year- PLEASE!
