Last Thursday I was at the launch of the all new Ralph Lauren collection at Vision Express. Like I said before, most of you like me probably thought “Vision Express already sell Ralph Lauren Eyewear” well they do but not the “Ralph Lauren Eyewear” range. Basically they sell the Polo range and the Ralph range which are both under the Ralph Lauren umbrella aimed at the younger market. However, this range is exclusively for Vision Express so if you like it you know where to go. With this Ralph Lauren range they are aiming at an older audience- ladies who are 35 plus but after inspecting the range I don’t really feel that if you are younger you can’t wear it. The shapes are great for one.
This is a 16 piece collection with a mix of acetate and metal frames, for me personally I am definitely swaying towards the acetate frames because the metal frames are probably too mature for my liking and to be honest I have never been a massive metal frames fan so it has to be something quite special to wow me.
The colourways for this collection are quite understated so if you are after something that will inject a hit of colour to your outfit then this Ralph Lauren Eyewear range may not be right for you. However, they are very suitable for everyday wear with all the shapes being quite stable pieces. Some of them have the flexie hinges but not all and one frame in particular has also got a western cowboy vibe to it which goes with the Ralph Lauren 2014 campaign nicely.
The frames are now available nationwide across all the stores, prices start from £209 so if you fancy checking them out for yourself then do pop into your local branch. I would definitely say the acetate styles are more open to different ages so please don’t think “oh my god, they are for over 35’s only” even I quite liked them and I am no way near 35. With the metal ones, yeah I wasn’t a huge fan but hey, you might be.
Can’t get to the store? Well there is always the online option 😉 Enjoy!
