In 2014 Lady GaGa is the face of Versace. If you love fashion and know your designers then you would know Versace is well known for using embellishments such as studs and not forgetting the iconic fashion moment where safety pins were used as embellishments on that Liz Hurley dress! Fairly recently Lady GaGa has been spotted wearing that same dress donated by Liz Hurley.
Since Lady GaGa is the face of Versace so of course she modelled the eyewear range too. For this summer (and going into autumn/winter 2014) Versace has gone stud crazy with their eyewear range. They have always gone a bit stud crazy with their bags and shoes but finally this has been translated into their eyewear range too.
The sunglasses styles are a bit more outrageous and daring whereas the optical range is a much more toned down version. This is probably due to the fact not many people in the UK are that daring with their day to day specs. I am not a massive fan of the sunglasses shapes but LOVED that the mirrored lenses match the frame colour (this seems to be a huge trend for summer). However, I am actually quite crazy about the red optical frames (images below).
The colour just really got my attention. I do love a good bright red frame and I have been in search for one too because I need a pair to go with my Red or Dead shoes! What I actually love about these glasses is the stud detailing, they are not “in your face Versace” but you know it is by Versace and I think this is a good way to use studs and incorporate them into eyewear . It is subtle enough for every day use if you don’t want to go crazy but they also make a statement, and have a presence.
During press day I was playing around with them and the quality is not too shabby either which you will all be pleased to know. These Versace glasses are hot news and are due to land in stores very, VERY soon so do look out for them. The best bet would be to check the Luxottica website to see when they are going into stores. Otherwise check your local David Clulow store for updates.
