Luxottica is the biggest eyewear manufacturer but if you are a consumer you are probably unaware.  If you work within optical however, then you know they are huge and you are probably going to either love them or hate them. The love and hate thing probably applies to both industry professionals AND consumers like us… why? Well they are the company that produces all the designer brands such as Prada, Miu Miu, DKNY, Chanel and that is just to name few so some consumers may feel “ahh typical mass produced glasses”. As for the “designer” optical market they do pretty much have the monopoly which has its pros and cons.

Anyway enough background information for you all. I am here to announce the latest eyewear news and if you are a HUGE fan of Michael Kors then listen up! As from January 2015 Luxottica will be producing the Michael Kors collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors Eyewear which will be their two luxury eyewear collections stocked in places such as the Michael Kors stores, department stores, independent opticians and Luxottica’s retail stores.

I am quite looking forward to seeing this collection because if I am honest the current optical collection available in Vision Express… I am not mad about. The designs almost seems a bit out dated compared to the rest of the brand and not fashionable enough for my liking. However the sunglasses are pretty spot on and very stylish (I love them! and their handbags- ha! )  but I feel it is important to make both ranges just as good as each other so let’s see how the luxury collection will be different to what is on the market now.

For all you Michael Kors fans out there, you do have a bit of time to wait I’m afraid but check out their latest sunglasses range and the one the model above is wearing! HOT HOT HOT! Turquoise mirrored lenses are bang on trend for Summer 2014 and this poster is obsoletely EVERYWHERE! It is such a strong image and it makes me want to buy everything she is wearing! Well done, clever advertisers- it certainly worked on me! 😉
