Cast your mind back to February when it was still cold… one of the most exciting things happened within the optical industry, the launch of 100% Optical. The first ever London optical show and the ONLY annual Optical Event in London. The guys behind the show, Media10, have already started to plot and plan what is going into next years show. Today I went along to the unveiling lunch held at the excel and you know what… Media10 will definitely be bringing an even bigger and better show next year.
For us consumers we can look forward to more eyewear brands exhibiting at 100% optical which is a great thing because that means we are more likely to get funkier frames in our local opticians when they do their buying at the show. For opticians this show will be a world class show, therefore you don’t have to travel as far to do your buying! Finally for exhibitors, you want to exhibit at this show because Media10 will do all the marketing for you to ensure your products get the right exposure and they will attract the best clientele for you.
Listening to the presentation today got me really excited about the show because the first show was so good and so much fun. If you are an optical professional and you want to give your customers the best then check out what 100% Optical can offer you. If you are an exhibitor or planning to exhibit then 100% Optical will start doing a quarterly magazine on all the latest news from exhibitors which will be sent to thousands of potential visitors so you are getting free PR from this and it is going to the correct audience. Then of course they will do the usual email newsletter where they will again promote your products or services.
On top of that, the show itself will be bigger with more room for new exhibitors, world class seminars and will attract even more overseas buyers, some top secret partnerships (which cannot be unveil yet) and trend predictions which is rather exciting! Personally I think this show is a breath of fresh air for the UK because with eyewear we are slacking behind compared to our European neighbours and lets not forget the ever so adventurous Asian market! As consumers we want to have the latest fashion and frames are no different, I strongly believe this show is doing something right and tackling this head on. London is one of the fashion capitals of the world, why shouldn’t our eyewear be world class and lead the fashion trends.
There will be more news about the show to come over the next 9 months so stay tuned. By the way for all my readers who may have come across eyewear brands during your travels that you haven’t seen in the UK yet, let me know and I will pass them onto 100% Optical! If they are cool glasses then they should be in the UK and buyers need to know about them! On that note have a great weekend and see you back here on Monday! x
