Last night was the launch of Joules Eyewear at Vision Express. For those who are not aware of the brand- Joules is a fashion brand focused on the Great British countryside, check out their site here. So, think spring, summer, the outdoors, country walks and other british outdoor activities, then you have Joules. Some people may compare it to the likes of Cath Kidston but I can assure you it is different.  Joules reflect their country heritage with a sense of fun using their colours and prints. If you love all things floral with a feminine touch (and of course wear glasses) then this range should be a hit with you.

The colour-ways for Joules are fairly muted but they always spice things up with a splash of colour in the form of patterns and that is what they do best. The eyewear range was no different which is great because sometimes brands lose their identity when they develop an eyewear range. Last night one of Britain’s favourite reality TV celeb frame wearers Olly Proudlock also made an appearance and he was caught chatting to the founder of Joules. They were chatting about all things design and eyewear of course.

Sadly for eyewear lover Proudlock, at the moment the Joules range is only available for women and girls but maybe the next collection hey! The range consists of 32 frames and includes sunglasses.  It is aimed at women from 30 onwards but the shapes are great and very wearable.  With the cute patterns I do not see any problem with them appealing to a younger audience.

Lets not forget the girls “mini me” range which are super cute aimed at girls aged  8-12. The shapes are taken directly from the adult range but adapted to fit a smaller face. Some may think that is just lazy but I think it is really cute! Imagine wearing mother-daughter matching glasses… how adorable would that be?

The quality of the optical glasses are standard but the sunglasses range use some good hinges.  The price point is very reasonable with optical frames starting from £149 and sunglasses starting from £60 (with UV protection) so really for that price you are getting a good quality frame. Joules is exclusive to Vision Express so if you like them and want a pair then head down to your local Vision Express because as from yesterday they are available nationwide. The price for the girls “mini me” range is £131 or just £40 with an NHS voucher. Go and grab yourself a pair before they go.  I am looking forward to be reunited with my pair that I picked out yesterday 😉
