OXYDO, what an odd name. It is an eyewear brand under the Safilo umbrella. A couple of weeks ago I went along to the Safilo press day (wow! 2 weeks already!) and that was when I discovered OXYDO. I was immediately drawn to them because they are very vibrant, eye catching and I can just tell they are probably something the UK market is not open to because in general, the UK is much more reserved. The PR representative from Safilo told me OXYDO is not that popular in the UK.  In fact that they hardly exist over here but they are extremely popular over in Europe. I was not at all surprised when she told me that.

Since the brand is not well known in the UK it gives me even more reason to talk about them on here because I want to share my findings with you. Maybe, just maybe, OXYDO is what you have been looking for but you were not able to find them because they hardly exist in the UK. If you love colours, bold and fun frames at a reasonable price then check them out.

OXYDO Optical Range

OXYDO Optical Range

Normally OXYDO is very focused on acetate frames but I quite like their metal frames for Spring/Summer 2015. They have added a hint of colour which ties in with the brand nicely so they do not lose their colourful philosophy. Normally I am not a fan of metal frames especially the really skinny ones because they just remind me of old people. They are the typical style the older generation wear but OXYDO has managed to funk them up and bring them inline with 21st century trends making them appealing to a younger audience.

OXYDO Sunglasses

Now, during press day I totally fell in love with this pair of sunglasses by OXYDO. The colour combination just really works and they are very striking. I think I am actually quite a fan of the sunglasses range because the shapes are good, there is a lot to choose from and the colours are just great. The collection just works so well together because sometimes you can get a bit of a miss match within a collection.

As I said before OXYDO is under he Safilo umbrella so that basically means they produced and distributed for the mass market. If you want to see more of this collection then it is worth dropping Safilo an email, alternatively you can ask your opticians (who already stock Safilo brands) if they can get in some OXYDO style to show you. Anyway check out their website and see the full collection, I hope one day soon they will make their way to the UK market because surely we are ready for some funky colourful stuff like this?
