If you read my blog post from yesterday then you may remember me mentioning something about a radio interview I was doing. Well, the interview actually happened last night at around 8.20pm and it was on the topic of Glasses vs Contacts. I was of course for team glasses and it was quite random how this interview came about because the researcher found my blog and emailed me because. The topic was on contact lenses and how they can cause infections in our eyes and they wanted to hear from someone who enjoys wearing glasses and the reasons why. That’s where I came in.
The topic was interesting because it actually talked about a few things the general public may not realise when wearing contact lenses and just how careful you do have to be when handling them otherwise you risk losing your sight. NOT GOOD! I just gave my point of few as a glasses wearer and how wearing glasses is now more of a fashion accessory than a necessity because it is true. More and more people are open to wearing glasses and people who don’t need glasses even wear them in the name of fashion.
If was certainly fun to do and I hope I will get more opportunities to do things like this in the future because I would like to spread the word, glasses are cool and nothing to hide from. If you missed the show then do not fret because with the power of the internet you can listen to it again and again for up to 4 weeks! Here is the link and the contact lenses debate started around 1hour and 10 minutes into the show.
The charity fight for sight were also on the show to give us some facts on eye care, health and the risks which exist whilst wearing contact lenses. Fight for sight is the chosen charity to be working with 100% Optical and can I just say, there are many exciting things planned at the show but I am not allowed to reveal anything yet! Soon I promise! In the meantime have a great weekend and see you back here on Monday where I will probably be over tired due to all the birthday celebrations for my brother and a week long worth of 30th celebrations for my husband!
