Thank god tomorrow is Friday because I think I need a little rest from all the press days and today was no different. Today I actually went to my very first evening press day because normally they do take place during the day. This agency thought they would do something a bit different and treat us journalists to a pampering session after running around all day. It wasn’t a bad idea I have to say, it is tiring business.
Obviously I was not just there for the pampering, this agency also handles the PR for Silhouette Eyewear. I was there to check out the Spring/Summer2015 collection to give you a taster of what is to come. Silhouette used to be all about rimless frames and their general target audience was aimed at the older generation but not anymore. As from a couple of seasons ago they brought out an acetate range and they are here once again.
The acetate frames from Silhouette are indeed quite different to typical acetate frames because they are much thinner, therefore really lightweight. This of course goes with the brands philosophy and it is what they do best. If you have never been a fan of acetate because most glasses are bulky then I highly recommend giving these a try, they are a good way of easing yourself into acetate frames. They may seem delicate but I can assure you they are extremely durable. The colours are muted but all the classic colours are in there so you cannot go too far wrong with them.
Once again this is just a quick preview post as there are so many things to cover and it is impossible to cover them all in one blog post. So stay tuned until next week when I will have more of a chance to write about my other findings. Before I end this blog post I also have an exciting news to announce about Silhouette. They will be exhibiting at 100% optical in Feburary. It has been 6 years since the brand showcased their collection at a UK based trade fair. This has got to be an exciting piece of news for people who work within the industry. The show is now only 4months away and it is getting exciting! Roll on the new year!
