Today is actually the first day of London Fashion Week showcasing what is to come for Autumn/Winter 2015. It is actually a bit strange for me not to be going at all this season but on the other hand being nearly 8 months pregnant I really don’t fancy trekking around and doing a lot of standing about in between. Sometimes at 8 months pregnant even sitting down for too long can be hard work so standing is definitely hard work, not forgetting the amount of wee stops I will need throughout the day. I need to plan my day around toilet breaks! Not even joking. On the other hand thank you to the power modern day technology I can still catch some of the catwalk shows via live streaming and in some ways that is actually better because I can wrap up warm with a tea in hand, sit in the comfort of my own home and watch the beautiful clothes and specs floating down the catwalk.
I was rather excited to catch the Felder Felder show today because I know last season (Spring/Summer 2015) they joined force with Silhouette Eyewear and the frames were stunning down the catwalk. Very striking colours! For this season Felder Felder did not disappoint and they did indeed feature eyewear! The collection itself has got quite a strong 70’s vibe and there were a lot of transparency throughout the entire collection. So think see through skits, see through tops, see through jackets, you name it… it was in the collection! Since the collection has a strong echo of the 70’s vibe the sunglasses were of course the same!
These are screen shots taken during the live streaming so do excuse the quality but you can see the proper images on the London Fashion Week website later once they have been put up.
I am not sure if they are Silhouette but I am in the process of finding out so please do bear with me. However, are we loving the 70’s vibe? I actually quite like that era especially the eyewear because they are such statement pieces, I love the shapes, the colours and just everything about them. This doesn’t just apply to the sunglasses, the optical frames in that era were pretty out there too, I wonder if this will catch on? Will everyone start wearing some real 70’s style glasses because metal frames are coming back in and that was a popular material to use back then.
As soon as I find out which brand of glasses they are I shall update this page so do come back here if you want to find out. In the meantime have a great weekend! Mine will be pretty much spent watching catwalk shows and doing a lot Chinese New Year celebrations with my family 🙂
