As you all know last Monday I went along to the pro-beauty show and wow! it was a massive show. I just focused on what I needed to do which was to source new beauty and make-up tips for our eyes. I stayed well away from the rest because the show was simply too big and dragging my 8 month pregnant feet around was not my idea of fun. It was safe to say I was rather exhausted by the end of the day. It was my first time attending a beauty show so it was a real eye opener for me, it seemed like a complete different world to me and let’s face it most girls love a bit of pampering. I definitely like to think once I do become a mum I can still pamper myself. I refuse to be one of those women who look like utter crap just because of becoming a mum. So yes, I did buy myself a couple of bits at the show to reduce the time I spend pampering so I can still to cater to baby. I am thinking ahead!
So what did I find at the show??? Well, I have personal obsession with eyelashes so whenever I see an eyelash stand I was immediately drawn to it. It seems the new thing coming in for eyelashes is something called Russian Volume. It is like getting individual eyelash extensions but better! The eyelashes themselves are in a cluster but do attach to individual lashes like the original type so it adds more volume than the traditional way. However, if you are worried you may end up looking like a clown or it may look too fake then there are different types of clusters and lengths to choose from.
Do not worry specs wearers, this new technique is suitable for us too because different lengths can be chosen. Of course if you want to go for a longer length for special occasions then by all means go for it but it will mean you cannot wear your specs for about 4 weeks or more (without them caking the lenses with mascara)! I had longer length extensions put in for my wedding and I loved it only because I hate my straight Asian eyelashes. This technique is a great way to make your eyes pop behind your frame and just because we wear glasses it doesn’t mean we cannot treat ourselves.
This technique is still very new to the beauty industry and to people who were at the show. They were there showcasing this technique to all beauticians and recruiting them to be trained so hopefully soon this will be at a beauty salon near you! I cannot wait to try them out because I am a bit of an eyelash enthusiast. The company I was chatting to (who specialise in this technique) are called Lady Lash based in London and is run by 3 very lovely ladies, check them out.
