So it is currently April and we are already enjoying a heat wave! What is that all about, in the UK as well? We are in for a treat and fingers crossed it will stay this amazing during the summer period. So with this gorgeous heat wave and being a new mum it got me thinking about maybe changing my hairstyle as I have had long hair for quite a while and baby seems to rather enjoy grabbing my hair already and stuffing it in her mouth.
I have seen celebs such as Cheryl and Kim Kardashian sporting the new must have “lob” aka the long bob I have to say I am tempted to go for the chop too but I am still deciding. When I am used to motherhood I will treat myself to a much needed haircut but in the meantime I still have time to decide whether I will go for the chop or not.
This lob style seems to suit almost everyone and it works with whatever hair colour you have. The most important thing is to make it less blunt and more edgy to add interest otherwise it can look a bit dull. I think when Cheryl went for the chop and put that photo on her instagram everyone went a bit mad for that style. Then not forgetting Kim Kardashian and on top of that, she also bleached the lob blonde too which was rather striking and so not what we were used to.
So like me, if you wear glasses and want to go for the lob then what glasses should you be wearing? Well let’s start with sunglasses since it is so sunny outside. Believe it or not the classic cateye will work a treat with this style for a safer option but if you want to go a bit daring then go for the round style and currently Cheap Monday do some fantastic sunglasses to go with this trend.
If you are a specs wearer like myself then the optical style to go for would be something bold, whether is round or square shaped because the lob style is a great chance to show off your face since the hairstyle does frame your face nicely so you might as well really make a statement with it and go for something bold to finish off this look nicely. Don’t forget to check out my glasses guide here. It explains all about face shapes and what works best with each!
I will let you know in the future whether I have braved it and gone for the chop myself! In the meantime, enjoy the gorgeous sunshine and if you like those Cheap Monday sunnies above then pop into your local Specsavers store to check them out. They are £99 or with prescription lenses they will cost a little more.
