I am carrying on with the theme of writing about my findings at Silmo Paris. Yes, it does feel like a lifetime ago and again I can only apologise with the late writing. MyGlassesAndMe is only run by me (with help from the husband) and being a mum to a 1.5-year-old, juggling motherhood with self- employment is a challenge. Just now, baby fell asleep on me whilst I was trying to work.
So, this blog post is all about a Korean brand which I saw in Silmo. The brand is called Projekt Produkt and it really caught my eye. From my Chinese roots, I know Korean fashion is a massive deal over in Hong Kong but of course living in the UK I am limited to what I have access to. Whenever I am back in Hong Kong, I do go a little crazy, buying as many clothes as I can because Korean fashion is just too cool and quirky. Oh and not forgetting Korean make-up! It is amazing and so affordable. Yes, I am a fan of Korean products, hence I was excited to see a Korean eyewear brand at Silmo.
The stand caught my eye straight away. It was a big space and it felt very welcoming. When I got a little closer to check out the frames, they did not disappoint. The styles were quite out there but not ridiculous looking. I would wear them on a daily basis. One thing I noticed was that they seem to like to use a lot of different coloured lenses. They were just a light tint, from black to pink and just whatever colour you can think of. I guess you can class them as sunglasses styles but it is a common thing over in Asia for people to just wear tinted coloured lenses in the name of fashion. They definitely looked impressive on the stand, but most of all, they looked fun. The stand did feel predominately sunglasses focused so all the photos I took were sunglasses.
Oh and another reason why I loved them so much was because they FIT SO WELL! What I mean by this is because it is a Korean brand, they obviously do Asian fit nose bridges, they fit like a dream! I don’t know how to explain it but as soon as I put them on, they just fitted so well that I didn’t want to take them off. I cannot explain how hard it is to find frames that fit and I have been living in the UK for over 20 years now. So, I was pleased to find them in Silmo and I hope to see Projekt Produkt in the UK as I feel there is a market for Asian fit frames. I’m afraid I did not get the price or where they are currently stocked during Silmo, that was due to the language barrier. I was trying my hardest to explain to them that I am not a buyer but they just kept giving me the wholesale price. In the end, I gave up and I thought a website address will do. So, here it is, a link to their website so you can check them out for yourself.
