British brand Joules is a premium lifestyle brand. It all started over 25 years ago from selling clothes at outdoor events around the UK. This is where founder Tom Joule realised customers who buy outdoor clothes like colours and a bit of fun, not everyone wanted dull outerwear. So, the Joules brand was born, clothes made for the outdoors but with added fun, colour and patterns.
The brand always reminds me of the British countryside and it has an air of “Britishness” about it. Back in April 2014 Joules launched it first ever Eyewear collection at Vision Express and since eyewear was a new territory for Joules, eyewear design house Mondottica was their chosen partner. Two years on the eyewear collection has gone from strength to strength. A few days ago I was invited to view their Spring/Summer 2017 collection at Joules press day. Since it was the S/S2017 collection, the main focus was on sunglasses rather than optical.
I always love seeing the eyewear with the clothing range because you can really get a feel for how the entire collection works together and you can really understand why some of the colours and patterns were chosen for the eyewear collection. For Joules S/S2017 they have kept all the frame colours pretty neutral but adding splashes of colour on the arms. All patterns used on the frames are exactly the same as the clothes. Each season Joules changes them so this will also be reflected on the eyewear range from optical to sunglasses.
For S/S2017 the sunglasses range will also be available to buy at Joules stores nationwide price from £59 so is not too expensive at all, and of course, they comes with UV protection. The quality of the frames is not too bad at all especially for the price point. If you are a fan of the brand then you will love the sunglasses range and you will want to wear everything together so they match. I haven’t seen the optical range yet but I am expecting something similar to the sunglasses collection.
On a completely non-related to eyewear note. I am totally in LOVE with the Joules baby/kids range! They are simply the cutest, I certainly have my eyes on certain pieces for my little baby. This actually reminds me, Joules also do an optical range for girls and they are basically the mini version of the adult styles. It is totally cuteness overload!
The sunglasses range will be available in store next year (around spring) so keep a look out on their website or pop in store. Another gorgeous collection by eyewear design house Mondottica and what a great partnership you guys have got there.
