Happy 75th Birthday to Polaroid

When we hear people mention the name Polaroid we immediately think of the camera or photos (or is that just me?). How many of us are actually aware they also produce some seriously stylish eyewear? Polaroid have been designing eyewear since 1937 and this year marks their 75th birthday! To mark the occasion, Polaroid has created a new Aviator design called Seventy-five. Based on Polaroid’s best known Aviator sunglasses from the 70’s

For their 75th anniversary their entire range of sunglasses were inspired by some of their best selling glasses from the 30’s all the way through to the 80’s. They have picked the best styles from each era then re-vamped the design, added 21st century touches to them and used the latest smart materials – very impressive huh 😉

The original Polaroid designs

This season within the Polaroid range you will find some strong colours return for men’s frames with gun metal, black and smokey blue dominating. They are teamed with complementary coloured gradient lenses. As for women, the colour palette also goes dark with burgundy, black and plum teamed up with lilac and grey lenses to flatter every skin tone.
