Now readers, I know my blog is all about glasses and this may seem to be going against my religion by writing about contact lenses but please do hear me out! I believe most glasses wearers would also wear contact lenses and I will certainly put my hand up and say “I do”. For me, I sometimes wear contact lenses simply because it is easier especially during the winter season when it rains a lot and I am continually going in and out of buildings from cold to warm.

What is a contactspod?

During the Polaroid press day I was shown something called a “contactspod” which I thought were quite a clever, handy idea. Basically it is a disposable contact lens case that allows the storage of contact lenses within the sterile, sealed environment for up to 24 hours! A key benefit is that they come pre-filled with contact lens solution, so no need to fuss with separate bottles and cases.

Like any other contact lens case, contactspod has left and right compartments and each contains sterile, hydrating contact lens solution. To use- simply remove the seal and place the lens in, once the case is shut it will create an air tight seal meaning it is a sterile environment and no leakage (genius!).  contactspod is the perfect traveling partner, it is nice and small so it will even fit into the tiniest of handbags. If you are a contact lens wearer then I would highly recommend them, especially for traveling or even just an overnight stay at a friends. Just think of all the room you will save by not having to carry a bottle of solution with you, your make-up bag will have a lot more room for all the other beauty essentials 😉 hehe. The contactspod will be coming to the high street from June 2012 (just in time for all the summer vacations) please visit http://www.polaroidcontactlenssolutions.com/ for more information.
