Mother’s day is fast approaching so have you all got your mummy a gift to tell her how much you love her? In a way I guess it is a bit pointless because you should show both of your parents how much you care no matter what and not just on a certain day. However, that is consumerism for you and somehow we all follow it because no one wants to be the bad child who doesn’t buy their mum a mother’s day card or gift.
If your mum is like my mum who is in her 50’s then I am guessing she will probably need reading glasses. when we hit 50 some part of our eye cells start to break away (not the most technical terms but I am not an eye geek) which makes it harder to read from a short distance. This is when reading glasses come into play and yes they are usually not that stylish and a bit cheap looking but not anymore! Not after what I have found today at the John Varvatos Press preview!

Ok,I do have a confession to make. Technically John Varvatos is a mens brand but I think most glasses or just eyewear in general can be unisex anyway. I personally wear my fiance sunglasses quite a lot and maybe if you buy these for your mum, your parents could share.

These reading glasses are super compact and super stylish unlike the normal ones you get. They are also beautifully crafted in antique gold and silver which, fold nicely into a little leather pouch case which is about the size of a match box. To wear them, once unfolded, the arms pull out like an aerial on a radio, if you get what I mean? Very clever! So who says reading glasses have got to be boring, in fact I am tempted to buy my mum a pair for mothers day and it also saves my dad buying himself a pair- now that is a money saving tip 😉 hehehe.
