I am sure everyone knows what Vogue is and have heard of Kate Moss, even if you are not a fashionista. If you really haven’t heard of either then I would suggest Google them or just get out more. hehe!

Vogue is known as the fashion bible and Kate Moss is like royalty in the fashion world. Some of you may be aware Vogue also produce their own eyewear range, it’s quite a commercial range as you can find the frames in most high street opticians. However, what happens when Vogue eyewear meets Kate Moss? We get the new 2012 Vogue eyewear campaign shoot.

At the age of 38 Kate Moss still doesn’t look a day older than 28 and looks absolutely stunning in this campaign shoot (or maybe that is thanks to photoshop? Who knows!). Kate Moss doesn’t actually need glasses, so is it right to get her to be the face of an eyewear brand? Or do you think it doesn’t really matter as long as she helps to sell the brand? I have always wondered how many models or famous faces who model an eyewear brand do actually need glasses?

The main question is, does celebrity endorsement help to sell the brand? In terms of eyewear you only find the big commercial brands use celebrity endorsement where as the smaller niche brands are always more quirky in their advertising campaigns.  Surely buying a pair of Vogue glasses will be like shopping in Topshop where you risk the high chance of someone out there wearing the same as you? At least with clothes you can style them to make them look slightly different but with glasses- I would say that is near impossible. Are you a commercial eyewear wearer or are you a niche brand wearer? Do share your thoughts in the comment box. I would love to hear your opinion 🙂
