Spring is fast approaching and of course the season after spring is summer! So what does summer mean to most people? Well to me it means, sunshine, warm weather and lots of ice cream! It is also the season where I will get the most use out of my sunglasses collection! I really do embrace the summer season especially in the UK where we don’t actually get that much of it!
Some readers have asked before whether I buy a new pair of sunglasses every summer and the answer is YES. I do have a rather large collection of sunglasses (I will show you what I mean another time, maybe when I move) I may not always spend a lot of money on a pair of sunglasses but because I do enjoy fashion, I do try and buy what is on trend for that particular season.
After flicking through what I call my “fashion bible” aka Marie Claire I have discovered this summer’s sunglasses trend will be retro. By retro they mean revamped wayfarers and cat’s eyes sunnies. I wonder if opticians across the country will be stocking more of these styles in normal glasses for us optical wearers or will they still just play it safe? I am sure most glasses wearers are ready for more adventurous styles hence we are getting more and more bespoke designers out there. When will the opticians catch up on that idea and stop playing it safe!? At least that is how I view it but please do share with me your thoughts on this topic.
