Prism is a word you may have heard of in your school science lessons.  If you took notice you would know that it is a triangular shape with refracting surfaces at an acute angle with each other and that separates white light into a spectrum of colours. Do not fret, I am not here to give you a science lesson, I am of course here to tell you about glasses!  It just so happens that this brand is called, that’s right, Prism . In the optical world Prism means a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. So what a clever name for an eyewear brand huh? 😉

For Spring/Summer 2012 as well as eyewear, Prism has also brought out a super cool and super sleek swimwear range which compliments the eyewear nicely. The swimwear range is in bold block colours that are cut beautifully and all pieces within the collection can be mixed and matched to whatever you desire. The collection takes inspiration from the Hollywood of old, and give us the glamorous shapes of the 50s and 60s, combined with a modern, clean aesthetics that are already shown throughout PRISM’s eyewear collection.

The brand was founded by Anna Laub who previously worked in fashion journalism. As she is a glasses wearer herself, she decided to create something that doesn’t just serve a purpose. In Anna’s own words from her website “PRISM glasses were designed as an accessory, not simply a functional product

For Spring/Summer 2012 a matte finish will be available in optical and sunglasses ranges. Each will have the option of mirrored or dark lenses. This collection is designed to compliment the swimwear range that allows the wearer to be creative and mix and match the two together. The entire eyewear range is named after cities from around the world and the swimwear range is named after different holiday destinations.
