Last week I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the ‘WOWZERS’ collection at Cutler And Gross. This collection was a collaboration between fashion designer Martyn Bal and of course Cutler And Gross (one of the best British eyewear brands around).
This collection was designed to capture people’s imaginations whilst redefining signature elements from Cutler and Gross’s folklore. To celebrate the continuous success of this collaboration, Martyn Bal has worked together with London based artist Luke Waller. The result is a series of nine paintings, each portrait depicting an individual wearing Wowzers.

The collection was effortlessly cool and constructed to a superb standard, just what you would expect from Cutler and Gross. In fashion terms I guess owing a pair of Cutler and Gross is like owing a classic Burberry trench- it’s not just a classic, its also iconic and you know it will never go out of fashion.
Of course I was trying them on like a kid let lose in a candy shop and my personal favorite was the purple pair I was sporting in the photo below. This photo does not do them justice at all because it was actually a really vibrant purple but the lighting was not right to capture that- shame.
I indeed did drag my partner in crime with me aka my fiance Ben. He doesn’t love glasses as much as I do but even he got a bit excited by them and wanted to try them on. That is how awesome these Wowzers are! Doesn’t he look a little bit like John Lennon in those round glasses and strangely enough the shape really suits him which never happened before with round frames. Or what do you think? Let’s have a pole on it! Comment below if you think this shape suits him or not 😉
So there we have it, take yourself down to their vintage store which is based in Knightsbridge (yes, basically very near Harrods) and see the collection yourself. You may just come out with more than one pair 😉 However, with the price of around £350 you may not want to but who knows, treat yourself! Hehe. If you want to check out the other specs Cutler and Gross have got to offer then go to www.cutlerandgross.com
I promise you, you will not be disappointed!
