Cast you mind back to February when the Eyeshow was cancelled and a pop up show took place in Soho. Well if you don’t remember it’s fine, but I did see some amazing glasses and one brand in particular, Francis Klein stuck to my mind and I REALLY want a pair as I am always on a hunt for some possible new frames. Francis Klein is a French brand and all frames are rather exquisite and glamorous- all handmade and hand finished in France. That is what I called a quality frame!
I think when I saw them, it was like love at first sight. They are just gorgeous frames. Let me give you an example… you know those amazing Manolo Blahniks Bella wore in the Twilight movie for the wedding scene?? Those shoes took my breath away and these Francis Klein glasses did the same thing to me. I want them and I need them in my life- I am of course talking about Manolo and the glasses, they go hand in hand.

I think if I could be a pair of glasses, I would want to be a pair of Francis Klein. I think there is a bit of me in them. The design is so unique and I am pretty sure they can make any eyes sparkle even if you may think you don’t have nice eyes. Some people may feel they are a tad OTT for everyday wear and a bit Dame Edna (if you don’t know who she is, google it) but I feel differently.
They are really fun to wear and are guaranteed to jazz up any outfit, they are definitely by far the most exciting eyewear I have seen to date but I think within the UK optical industry they may not be ready for high fashion frames like these. These glasses are like the couture of fashion but they may work as sunglasses if sold as such in UK. I feel the UK market is not very open to new things, when I speak to opticians they say it is because the consumers aren’t ready but I don’t think that is the case. In fact I would love to do a survey of some sort so please comment below and tell me your thoughts on this topic or email me.
Francis Klein in the UK?
Funnily enough I don’t think there are many stockists for them in the UK but they are huge over in Europe, America and Asia who are quite open minded with eyewear and have a completely different market to us. Why are we so backwards? Let’s move forwards, but how is the question?
