I think this is the most anticipated write up from London Fashion Week and some of you asked when I was going to get round to it… well here it is! The John Rocha show at London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014. For those of you who may not be aware you are probably thinking what the hell has John Rocha got to do with eyewear? Well you know what… back in April he launched an exclusive eyewear collection for Specsavers and he uses his clothing range as inspiration for his glasses range so damn right John Rocha has got something to do with eyewear 😉
I was rather excited to see his collection too as 1) he is a brilliant fashion designer 2) I love his clothes, the are very feminine- my style AND 3) HELLO we could be seeing this collection being translated into glasses! So what was the verdict? It was bloody brilliant and I am looking forward to seeing the new eyewear range. If you like the sound of lady like, strong shapes, strong cut, a mixture of textures, a splash of colour and the use of floral patterns then you need to listen up and check it out. Below are a few looks which I think could work well as frame designs.
The use of texture (red flowers) and adding a bold colour to the cream based fabric. I can see this easily being used as an eyewear idea… Engrave colourful flowers sandwiched in between the acetate- fit!
Within this SS14 collection I was loving the hat! It is all about the hat, I want one so BADLY!!! I love the crazy hat design, it looks like some hardcore crochet, rope wired design and again I can see that design being translate to glasses… maybe for the arm of the frames- lush!
There is the hat again! With this dress I LOVE the ruffles at the bottom. Ruffles always add that feminine, lady like feel to it and I would love to see a frame design with the ruffle idea, using it within the acetate design and creating that ruffle effect actually in the acetate.
Finally, the final look which I think will work well as a frame design. floral with a mix of vibrant colours- LOVE IT! The entire collection was just stunning and a lot of see through fabrics were used- it was a see through heaven so for SS14 maybe expect a lot of see through things happening because it does seems to be a recurring theme for some of the other shows I have seen.
So here we are The John Rocha ss14 show at London Fashion week. The guy never disappoints, always creating feminine lady like pieces and looking at his creations for SS14 I wonder how many high street copy cats there are come spring time. Oh my god I am looking forward to spring already and winter has not even started yet.
After seeing John Rocha’s stunning creations on the catwalk I am so looking forward to seeing his new eyewear range. Please don’t make me wait any longer and give me some clue or a sneak peak please! hehehe.
