Reading glasses, what do you all think of them? I have always associated them with being old and frumpy looking just because you only need them when you get to a certain age… right? To be honest I never really investigated reading glasses so I have no idea what they are like now days but from what I have seen they are getting better and more stylish- am I right? However, I have never fallen madly in love with any because the ones I have come across are all in similar styles- why do they all look so similar?
Then I came across Anthropologie! I love this shop so much! Everything is probably a little bit pricey but I believe the brand does try and be ethical so the products you are buying shouldn’t have anything bad things attached if you see what I mean (like the whole angora scandal at the moment). Everything they sell from fashion to home furnishing all comes with a retro vintage vibe which I love and they also sell a range of reading glasses which I also love!
All the reading glasses I have ever come across which you can just buy off the shelves are all long thin rectangular shapes- boring! Then when I was nosing at the Anthropologie sale (yes- sale!!!) I saw these little beauties! Oh I love them, I want them as my glasses… I wonder if that is at all possible to put my prescription lenses in instead?
Another thing I love about this shop is that I think they are about the only high street fashion retailer selling reading glasses. I always find the most unglamorous places sells them like chemists or even at the post office! Not exactly the most appealing places to buy them from and definitely have that old/frumpy attachment to them. I know reading glasses are not as important as normal glasses but surely we should try harder to make them more appealing and more exciting- do we agree?
