I am so excited about this announcement which I am about to make that I don’t even know how to say it. So I think I am just going to have to come out with it… MGAM aka MyGlassesAndMe will be the official blogging partner for 100% Optical! Yes, that’s right you have heard it here first. You are probably thinking why is it such a big deal and what’s in it for you lovely readers? Well, its a big deal because MGAM will be working with the VERY FIRST London based optical show in ExCeL London. The show is designed and organised by the people behind shows such as Grand Designs, Ideal Home show and 100% Design which incase you didn’t realise are all award winning shows for simply being so well designed and organised. So I am extremely honoured and excited to be a part of it!
So what is in it for you readers? Ok there are a number of things, depending on what kind of reader you are. If you work within the optical industry then this show is VERY different to what is out there now- I promise you! 100% Optical are trying to break the mould by not creating an optical show where you typically walk around and listen to a few seminars. It is going to be interactive, engaging with the “wow” factor.
If you are a MGAM consumer based reader who enjoy reading about what new frames I find, trends and how they link with fashion etc then this will be absolute heaven to you. This is because your local optician could be buying their stock at this show which of course will have a massive impact on you. As well as glasses there will also be a fashion show which I am of course very passionate about and excited to cover. You will get to see “which frames with which clothes”. Now, not forgetting MGAM readers who may be students studying optometry or design this could be the show where you meet everyone who works in different sectors of the optical industry. It will be the show to be seen in for the future generation of graduates.
Finally for all PR agencies who are also MGAM readers, if your clients haven’t heard of this show then you should introduce it because they may want to get involved, especially if your clients are a niche brand. Just ask your client “do they tend to fall asleep at a normal trade show”? If they say yes, then yeah, you need to tell them about 100% Optical because it will be so buzzing that they will wish it was longer than 3 days! You readers are probably thinking of course I am going to big them up since I am working with them, well you know what I don’t work with companies I don’t believe in or that I don’t feel passionate about. I do get approached by quite a lot of brands and I have never said “yes” to something I am not keen on. I believe 100% Optical will be the show for the future because the team behind it are so bloody talented that I can kiss them all- lol.
