One Direction, I am pretty sure these boys need no introduction even across the pond to my America readers because I think it is safe to say they are so famous that everywhere around the world know who they are. I mean I know they are famous and everything but bloody hell I cannot believe some of the merchandise you can buy until I went Christmas shopping the weekend just gone. My second cousin who is practically like my little niece is 7 years old and also a Directioner like all young girls she LOVES them and got posters of them ALL over her bedroom wall. I do get it and thinking back to my younger days I was a massive fan of the BackStreet Boys, yeah I never got into Take That. Don’t know why but they just didn’t appeal to me.

Did you know you can buy One Direction Colgate toothpaste, tooth brush and bizarrely you can buy a life size cut out of any of the band member. I did not buy my niece anything like that then today as I was working away a press released has arrived in my inbox and the boys have done it again. They have launched their very own eyewear collection. Yes! You have heard it right, as in glasses, optical frames, you know.

Is there anything these boys are not getting their hands into? I supposed people do say in show business you do have to ride the tide whilst its high because it may not last forever and I am guessing their management team probably want to make as much money as they can whilst they are at their peak of fame and why not.

This range is of course not for us grown up but aimed at children from the age 6 to 11 and the collection is fairly small at 8 pieces but it consist of the popular metal and plastic material with colours such as red, lavender, brown and burgundy so yes this collection is aimed at girls as you can imagine. If your daughter, niece, friends children are a fan of One Direction and wear glasses then this may be the perfect gift to buy them and there is still time to get it as a Christmas gift with 1 week to go!

Here are the all important information… where to get them? Well, they are exclusively available at Vision Express nationwide as of TODAY 18th December 2013 and price starts from £40 with NHS voucher. You know what, even though I am not a huge One Direction fan I do think it is a good move of them to create an eyewear range because this may help young children to feel it is ok to wear glasses and hopefully help children to see glasses differently and not just something they have to wear and they are uncool. Let’s face it glasses do still have this uncool label attached to them and let’s hope 1D will help to make them cool.
