Last Friday (9th November), I did mention I was heading down to a press day before shooting off for my brother’s birthday drinks and if you have been stalking me on twitter on @MyGlassesAndMe then you would of known I was at Eye Respect’s Press day. Eye Respect started off as a distribution company bringing in all new and cool eyewear brands into the UK but now they have their very own Eye Respect range. The collection is predominately for the gents but I am sure there are many suitable styles for us ladies too as some are more universal and suitable for both sexes. On top of being busy producing their own range they do still look after a few cool eyewear brands such as AM Eyewear (one of my favs), Philip Lim, Oliver Spencer, A.Sauvage and John Varvatos.
Firstly I LOVED the way they displayed their glasses this press day, I thought it was absolutely awesome! It was set up on a long dinner table- very grand and it does look like you are tucking into a 3 course dinner of glasses. YUM!
So anyway, back to the glasses. The collection is of course for SS2014 so what can you gents expect from Eye Respect? The vibe I got was a very “British Gentleman” feel. Expect to see a lot of round shapes but mixed in with some very strong angular shapes so it is almost one extreme to another but the collection works. The colours are quite understated, you have the classic black, timeless tortoiseshell and clear acetate to add some fun into the mix.
As well as viewing all the awesome eyewear, we were also there to celebrate AM Eyewear’s 10th birthday! AM Eyewear have launched a one off sunglasses collection and they are simply GORGEOUS! I was totally in love with them and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair, all I need now is a bit of sunshine then thats is it, they will be glued to my face forever! You guys also need to check out the AM optical range, the SS2014 collection is looking HOT with some really interesting patterned acetate coming in, they are not to be missed!
