We have nearly made it through winter (well kind of but we are almost half way through January) so I feel it is time to start thinking about sunglasses. Mind you the winter we have had so far in the UK has been quite mild and we haven’t really seen many minus temperatures which is lucky for us. Now… during this mild winter with quite a sightings of winter sunshine have you been wearing your glasses to protect your eyes? Or are you a bit like me who either chooses glasses or sunglasses? Well apart from my glasses with Transitions lenses (but I am still waiting for my new pair to arrive).
I am 100% percent certain and would say all of my sunglasses are none prescription just because I like giant shaped sunglasses and it is hard to get my prescription into those glasses. So when it comes to winter sun or just a hot sunny summers day I am always torn between wearing my normal glasses and wearing my sunglasses. This is because if I want to wear my sunglasses I would have to wear my contacts. However, what if I said Silhouette has come up with a clever solution to this?
Silhouette is the most well known brand for their rimless glasses and now they have bought out a range of click on shades to go with their rimless frames. The concept is really quite simple, you can wear your Silhouette glasses as normal and when the sun comes out you just get the sunglasses piece out and click it onto the nose bridge- easy! The sunglass pieces are in large shapes to ensure a good coverage for your eyes and they all provide 100% protection from UVA, UVB and UVC rays, blocking up to 87% of dangerous blue light.
Do not even worry about the added weight because they are so light at 5.10g to ensure a truly comfortable fit, you are not even going to feel that much difference or have to worry about weighing your existing glasses down . If you want to check them out for yourself then go to their website and find out who stocks them. At the moment there are only 5 styles available- 2 unisex, 1 womens and 1 mens and I do believe the design itself is only compatible with Silhouette’s glasses but watch this space, you never know what they will do next 😉
