Today is the final day of 100% Optical and if you haven’t had a chance to have a nose then you should. Yesterdays highlights I am dedicating to my consumer based readers so it will be all about frames that have caught my eye. Oh, by the way I am going to do a give away as well in association with HDbrows as they were here yesterday offering mini make overs and advice about how to best apply eye make-up with glasses. So look out for that in the near future! Nice eye make up needs to be accompanied by cool frames and yesterday I was in search for some unusual and quirky frames.
100% Optical have attracted many fun, quirky and unique eyewear brands to the UK optical market and I am sure us consumers are ready for them but “will your opticians buy them?” is another question! As I was walking around yesterday I noticed two brands, one in particular does wooden frames but they are not your ordinary wooden frames. They have layers of carbon fibre in-between and they use about 20 different types of trees to achieve different looks and effects.
The brand is called Tree Spectacles…. funnily enough, so it is nice and easy to remember. If you are into your environmentally friendly products, something a bit techie and fancy a change from metal and acetate frames then these are worth a look.
Then there is Jonny Loco, a brand from the Netherlands which is actually a lifestyle brand. They started off making bikes but branched out to eyewear and other fashion accessories such as bags. I love the colours their sunglasses range comes in, it looks to be a really fun brand.
As well as sunglasses they also do optical glasses. Don’t you just want to see more of them in the UK? I do! I was having a chat with the brand owner and apparently the opticians were not keen on them because they are too crazy…. er….. they are not that crazy. Am I right readers?
