Agessss ago (as in way back in December) when it was still freezing I attended an event held by ic! berlin and Transitions – remember? Well during that event I received a pair of complementary ic! berlin frames complete with Transitions lens in my prescription. It took a while to get the frame through the post just because the glasses I picked was a new style and Transitions had to glaze it but I did get them back before my Hong Kong trip. I took them to Hong Kong and had many admiring glances because the frame were that cool! However, I didn’t get to try out the Transitions lens properly just because when I was there it was Hong Kong misty season which basically mean it was pretty misty everyday with sunshine struggling to come through.

This weekend just gone (or shall I say Saturday) it was a pretty gorgeous day all over the UK which was also the perfect chance to test out the Transitions lens properly! I was in London that day meeting friends for lunch so I was indoors and outdoors which would really put the lenses to the test.

Me as the wearer I could not even tell the lenses had changed colour. It felt so natural, whenever I was outside I had to ask my friends to check whether they had changed. I think the only time I could maybe tell was when I was going from outdoors back indoors, that split second I can feel things looked a bit darker but the change is so quick it was almost like if you blinked you would have missed it.

The Transitions technology is now so clever and so advanced that it makes the wearer feel so comfortable and definitely no more walking into things when you go back inside because they no longer take ages to change. The change also feels really subtle and natural that you don’t even have to worry about them.  If you want a solution in the summer where you don’t have to keep changing your prescription glasses to sunglasses (we all know how annoying that can be) then I do believe Transitions is your answer. One piece of advice from me would be make sure you pick a good strong style that looks as good as sunglasses as they do optical.
