New year is always the time when almost everyone makes a new year resolution and most of these resolutions involve some sort of detox, healthy eating, joining of the gym or some sort of boot camp training to get back into shape and burn off the Christmas over indulgence. Now, over the years I have noticed retailers are getting more and more clever because by the time Christmas is over they all start to move ALL the sportswear or anything remotely relating to sports or healthy living to the front of the shops so shoppers like ourselves will be like “oh crap, yes! must buy myself an entire new exercise wardrobe like I have done for the past 10 years but only use it twice and give up on the idea after a week”. I would not call myself a gym bunny and I am definitely not the one to put my hands up and say I love gyming because I don’t but I do exercise on a regular basis just because I know it is good for me. Also, I actually had TB when I was 16 so I now only have 1 and half functioning lungs so it is important I actually do exercise, for me is not a matter of choice, I have got to, just to keep my lungs strong.

Plus it turns out exercising has also been very beneficial for me throughout my pregnancy. It has kept my tummy muscles strong over the years so my muscles is actually holding the bump in quite well. So, for this blog post to go with the exercise madness happening at the moment I am going to give you some sporty looking eyewear to match your brand spanking new exercise wardrobe which you have probably spent a lot on so these are purse friendly specs 😉

First up we have Dunlop optical frame from Tesco Opticians at £89

Dunlop £89 from tescoopticians.com

Dunlop £89 from tescoopticians.com

Then we have Dunlop sunglasses from Tesco Opticians at £35

Dunlop sunglasses £35 at TescoOpticians.com

Dunlop sunglasses £35 at TescoOpticians.com

I have to say, I am not sure if it is just me but I have always felt there aren’t too many sporty looking optical glasses for us ladies. They are always aimed at the gents just like the Dunlop ones above. I remember talking to the PR from Oakley once at an event and even with Oakley who are a massive sports brand they have only just started to develop a sporty womens optical range. It makes you wonder why and I know some people do prefer to wear contacts whilst exercising and even I do but not everyone CAN wear contact so what do these ladies wear???

Anyway, I hope these specs will go nicely with your new exercise wardrobe, they are very affordable so no excuse 😉 Now, the next question is how long can everyone keep up with their new year resolutions? I have numerous friends who always make a new year resolution and all of them do not last more than 3 months so I will see how they get on this time round. hehe.
