Now days I am pretty sure most people know what an App is and if you have a smart phone then the chances are you have probably got a few of them on your phone to help make your life a little easier. There really is an app for everything and it is amazing how clever some of them are, what did we used to do before the days of apps? I actually don’t have that many apps, I just download the basic useful ones like my banking app, my phone bill app and of course Whatsapp. Everyone uses Whatsapp now days and it is the easiest way to stay in touch with my family in Hong Kong. However, my husband is the king of apps, he has so many that I get confused if I try to use his phone so I don’t bother.
Soon, I have been told I can download an app to track my contractions before labour and at the moment I am already using an app to track my pregnancy. It tells me what to expect each week and how big my baby is growing etc so yes apps are very useful things and they are all compact, in our phone which we carry EVERYWHERE with us. I for one cannot be without my phone… I feel very lost without it. Last year I had an idea to do a MGAM app. I wanted this app to help us specs wearer to find the right frame for our face shape. I know some opticians do offer you a service instore where you can have a play around on their computer screen to find the right shape for your face but wouldn’t it be so much easier if we could do it on our phone beforehand then go into the store with ideas already because sometime you don’t even know where to start once you are in an opticians.
So this app is simply there to make your buying glasses experience a little easier but of course this app could be just as helpful if you wish to buy a pair of sunglasses from a high street fashion store. All you have to do is go to the iTunes store and download this app for free. Once it is all downloaded to start all you need to do is to take a photo of yourself and use the shape guide at the bottom to help you determine what face shape you are. Once a face shape has been established you can choose from a list of glasses shapes and start placing those onto your photo.
At the moment the concept is very basic and we have used some comic glasses in there for testing, these will be replaced by realistic frames. I need your help to fine tune it so I need you guys to download and give it a go. If you could then give me your feedback on the app that would be really good. What do you think I can improve? How to make it more appealing? Do you think I need extra features to make it a truly usable app? Of course the app it is now ready to use and available to download in iTunes but I would be so grateful if you can all start using it and give me your feedback so I can improve it on the next update. Here is the link to the app or you can just search MGAM in the iTunes store! Thanks everyone!
