Here I am nearing the end of my pregnancy and I am now officially on maternity leave because my body physically cannot take it anymore. I am just constantly tired and carrying the extra baby weight is bloody hard work! My lower back has never ached so much in my life, plus with my low iron level the doctor pretty much said I need to rest up and reserve my energy for the birth. From now until 40 weeks ANYTHING can happen so if baby fancies it… they may show up tomorrow. I will still be checking my emails every so often throughout the day but I will not be glued to my computer that is for sure. From now I will mainly be sleeping and preparing the final bits for the baby, oh and maybe I really should write that birth plan. Ha!
So, how am I feeling? Pretty damn nervous is the word but excited at the same time because finally I will get to meet this little baby that has been growing in my belly. I want to know what features they have and whether this little bundle of joy will look more like me or my husband? I have been doing more reading in the past week on eye colour because I really do wonder what colour eyes they will have? Apparently according to the book if a baby is born with brown eyes then they will just stay brown and they will only get darker as they get older. However, if the baby is born with greyish colour eyes or dark blue then they will change in the next 9 months to either blue, green, hazel or brown. How weird is that?
My husband being English has got bluey grey eyes and of course me being Chinese I have brown eyes but apparently everyone with brown eyes does carry one blue gene so anything can happen! However I do wonder if it will look odd for a mix race baby to have blue eyes but then again that does depend on what colour hair they have because if the hair is light then it may be ok? When I was born I actually had rather light brown hair and it curled a little bit which is really quite rare for Chinese. Almost all Chinese have got black poker straight hair so my mum said when I was a baby no one believed I was Chinese.
Gosh, you know what… even as I am writing this I am feeling rather sleepy. This pregnancy thing is definitely kicking my butt but very soon it will be over but then I have an actual baby to deal with which will cause me even more sleepless nights. At the moment I am struggling with sleeping at night because I need to get up at least 4 times just to go to the loo but I guess it is all practice for when the baby arrives. Anyway readers even thought I am now officially on maternity leave I will still try my hardest to blog once a day and be active on social media so you can follow my progress and one final thought… pregnancy is really irritating my eyes. They feel so dry and just annoying! So I am definitely looking forward to popping just so my eyes doesn’t feel so uncomfy!
