Here we are again and it is time to get your best specs on and take a selfie for your chance to win some amazing prizes with Specsavers. Of course I am taking about the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards 2015 (SWOTY2015), yes it is that time of the year again. In fact I am actually a little late mentioning this on here because it was launched nationwide a while back but I blame the baby for me being behind. However, better late than never, I always enjoy announcing it on the blog because of the excitement of it all. I still remember last years awards really well and I was 14 weeks pregnant then!

This year the ambassador for the awards is Emma Bunton and I think they have chosen well because she has always worn glasses. Also as a mum herself she can most certainly sympathise with the charity that Specsavers supports – Kidscape the anti bullying charity for children.

Emma says: ‘I’ve been wearing glasses for years, even before I needed a prescription. I wore them without lenses because I think they’re a great way to accessorise!

Glasses should be fun. I love the variety, from dark frames to tortoiseshell and two-tone. I also like being a bit out there and wearing white or vintage glasses. I think the good thing about the range available now is that you can have so much fun with them.

It’s so important to make sure there’s lots of support for children who get bullied. It’s an awful thing to go through and heart-breaking for kids and parents. As a mother I’m proud to be part of this campaign and help spread the word.’

Every year it is the same in terms of how you can enter but I will of course remind you all.

To enter is very easy, you simply upload a selfie of you wearing your favourite specs.  They don’t have to be glasses from Specsavers therefore the competition is really open to all who have a passion for eyewear. It is split into 5 age groups, 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s so pick your age group and enter. Don’t forget for each person that enters £1 will be automatically donated to Kidscape.

All finalists will receive a VIP make-over courtesy of celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton and Hollywood’s favourite make-up brand Stila. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2015 winner receives an all-inclusive holiday for two in the Bahamas courtesy of the Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas, as well as a whopping £10,000 cash prize PLUS £1,000 to spend on eye care at Specsavers.

A pretty good prize hey so if you fancy your chance to win then simply head to or pop into your local store, Good Luck!
