To me cosmopolitan means two things. The cocktail made famous by Sex And the City and the female magazine. I used to read Cosmopolitan when I was younger but now I am more of a Marie Claire kinda girl. Well in August (as in today) Cosmopolitan will be launching their very first collection of eyewear. It is not uncommon for a fashion magazine to branch out and launch products. Look magazine has got a beauty range but before you ask, Vogue eyewear actually has nothing to do with Vogue magazine.

So when I heard Cosmopolitan will be launching an eyewear range I was more than intrigued to see what they are all about. I haven’t seen them first hand yet but I have seen images of the full range. Like the fashion forward magazine, the range is certainly fashion forward with vibrant colours and some very pretty details in the metal frames.

Cosmopolitan is a magazine for young ladies from 18 onwards so in that respect it is interesting to see them branching out to eyewear.  Will the eyewear also attract the same audience or attract a younger audience? Another interesting point is that fashion magazines in the UK rarely feature optical frames but with Cosmopolitan having their own range will that now change? Surely they would want to promote their own range within the magazine? If so, could this be a turning point for eyewear and fashion. Will the two worlds come together FINALLY?

Either way I am excited to see the range first hand just so I can play around with them. I am SO intrigued to see if the range will be featured in their own magazine. All the frames are produced by eyewear manufacturer Concept eyewear and will be distributed by them to selected opticians so if you want to check them out for yourself I would recommend to go to Concept Eyewear website to find your nearest stockist. Frames will be retailing at a very purse friendly £89.
