Bolon Eyewear is probably quite a new name to almost all consumers over in the west but over in the east they are huge! Their frames have been worn by many celebs from that side of the world. When I saw them last October during Silmo their brand ambassador was Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway. Between then and now, lens giant, Essilor announced they will be launching a Bolon range for the European market, and that launch took place at Mido. I was very privileged to be invited along as I was the only UK press to attend the launch. For the new campaign, American super model Hailey Baldwin is the face for the USA, Europe and China markets, she took some time out from her busy schedule for Milan Fashion week and came to Mido to talk about all things Bolon.
Before Hailey Baldwin appeared on stage, all the press had the chance to view the range, they were beautiful frames and the quality was certainly good. Bolon stands for design, quality materials and technological artistry. Combining the long Chinese manufacturing tradition with European expertise using Italian Mazzucchelli acetate and memory Resin TR90 made in Switzerland to guarantee lightness and resistance. Lenses are of course polarised to give the wearer the ultimate protection as well as looking stylish.
I was certainly very impressed by them. When Hailey Baldwin took to the stage she spoke about why she liked Bolon and how she only likes to work with brands she actually likes and enjoys wearing, which I feel it is a very important point. She was of course wearing a pair of Bolon frames at the launch, she looked super chic wearing an all white suit with a gold Bolon aviator style frame with pink tinted lenses. The look was elegant, feminine and stylish, this is exactly why Bolon chose her as the campaign face for 2017.
I was super privileged to be at the launch and to get the exclusive for the UK. The Bolon sunglasses range will be rolled out to consumers soon. It is worth checking back here or following us on @MyGlasesAndMe to find out when you can get your hands on them. For all my readers that are opticians, if you missed Bolon at Mido then you can see the full range during Optrafair from April 1st – 3rd at Birmingham NEC. Alternatively, you can speak to your local Essilor rep regarding Bolon.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the sneak peak images of the collection from Mido.
