Last Wednesday I was at the launch of the new Red or Dead eyewear range, Temple Temple. The name is probably a bit of a giveaway as to what the collection is all about, yes indeed, you can change the temples or arms (whatever you wish to call them) of your glasses. I know the concept of changeable temples is not new, but as per usual, Red or Dead makes the whole thing super fun. I loved the marketing that went with it, it was light-hearted and vibrant, exactly what Red or Dead is about. I was totally sold on them based on the marketing. Ha!

Since the range is called Temple Temple, Red or Dead ran with the idea of the Buddist/Indian kinda vibe with the marketing and the launch. We were eating mini curry pastries and incense was burning. So, the glasses. What did I think of them? There were many colours to choose from, I personally thought there was a good range of colour considering it isn’t a large collection of 12 pieces. There was a real mix of shapes to choose from too.  The classic cat eye was there because who can resist a cat eye?

Now, with all the changeable temple glasses available, the most important question is, how easy are they to take off and change? The answer is, pretty easy. When you pull the temple off, it does feel like you are going to break them because a small amount of force is required.  But don’t worry, you won’t break them, they do just literally pull off and that’s it. These differ as some require the user to push a button, etc. I am sure everyone wants to know how durable they are, especially if they will be taking the temple on and off frequently. That will be a hard one to answer because it really does depend on how frequently you wish to change them and how heavy handed you are with them. They have been designed to withstand pulling, etc., but it doesn’t mean you can be mega rough with them. Care still needs to be taken.
