I have not done much on Cutler and Gross for a while, but it is certainly still one of my favourite brands. I thought it was about time, I go and visit their latest store in Spitalfields over in east London. The Store has been open for a while now to be honest, but I never made it there due to other work commitments. Hey, better late than never. The store was stunning, but then again, I wouldn’t expect anything less. Very clean and minimalist store design which lets the glasses speak for themselves.
The store may seem like a small space, but there is a downstairs too with a selection of their vintage collection on show and available to buy. There is a room for an eye test if you need it. So, it contains everything a typical optician on the high street offers, but in a much more relaxed setting. All the glasses in the store are put together according to their colour group. I think that is actually a nice way to display them and a bit different to displaying them according to their styles.
In my store visit, I also discovered Cutler and Gross do a range of Asian fit glasses! To me, that is like music to my ears. I struggle so badly with finding acetate frames that fit me in the UK. Cutler and Gross have a range of glasses that are already made in Asian fit, but they do offer a bespoke service too. I would actually say if you struggle with normal nose bridges on acetate frames, maybe give Asian fit a try because we all have different nose shapes. I guess it is called Asian fit because typically us Asians do have a flatter and smaller nose bridges. I am Chinese so I cannot express how annoying it is when I wear acetate frames that simply don’t fit me well.
To finish the store visit off, I was told that Cutler and Gross will have some pretty awesome pastel lens sunglasses for summer 2017. Coloured lenses are a huge thing this summer. I was totally in love with one of the vintage styles in store, they were a tint of pink which went perfectly with my lipstick. I was in love. The new pastel sunglasses are now available online and do pop into your closest Cutler and Gross store to see if they are there. If you don’t live near a store, then you can find your nearest stockist here.
