Yesterday I was invited to the Maui Jim Wimbledon tennis clinic to check out some sunglasses and play some tennis with tennis legend Martina Hingis, Serena William’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou and Garbine Muguruza. It was a fantastic lineup and what a way to learn to play tennis. However, can I just clarify, I didn’t actually play, but I sent my husband as I was busy taking photos for the blog and posting on social media. He loved it! He played with Martina, Patrick and Garbine.
I have been blogging for six years now and believe it or not, this year is the first time I have ever attended! Madness, right? The Maui Jim Wimbledon tennis clinic event is an annual event. From what I can remember, every year there was either a wedding or a big milestone birthday I had to attend. Then in 2015 I had my baby and took a year out, but that year I did send my husband and my brother to go on my behalf.
So, what did I think of the eyewear? I personally am a huge fan of Maui Jim Sunglasses, the lens quality is just amazing and you really can see better with them on. The clarity of the lenses are just superb, which makes seeing colours and your surroundings in general, twice as good. They give definition to everything you are seeing or basically, it feels like you are seeing things in the best light all the time. Such as, the blues of the sky look bluer, the clouds have more definition to them, the grass looks greener (really greener) and in general just help you to see your world better. It is something that is hard to explain and you need to experience them yourself.
Maui Jim has a huge fan based in the sports world and hence, yesterday we were in Wimbledon playing tennis. For any sportsman or sportswoman, it is so important to wear the correct eyewear in order to see better, focus on what they are looking at (ie, the tennis ball) and block out any glare. If you want to invest in a pair of sunglasses that are high quality with fantastic protections for your eyes, then I highly recommend you to give Maui Jim a try. Especially if you love to play sports.
During yesterdays event, Maui Jim also announced they have extended their relationship with eye care charity Optometry Giving Sight. For any pair of Maui Jim sold during a sporting event, Maui Jim will provide access to vision care for children in need. This campaign will be running for 12 months and they are kicking things off now, during Wimbledon at their pop-up shop which you cannot miss if you are heading down to Wimbledon. Buy a pair to aid you to see your world better and help a child in need.
