This is the last of my Silmo top 5 eyewear brands blog post and the last brand I am going to mention is Gamine. They were actually quite near the Metronome stand from what I can remember, The stand design itself was pretty simple but it was the way the glasses were displayed and one frame in particular displayed right at the front caught my eyes. I simply cannot just walk by without having a closer look. There was quite a mix bag in terms of shape, style and material used within the collection but I thought that is what made Gamine a little bit different to other brands. If you want a funky bold acetate frame to something very simple and delicate, they have them both on offer.

The piece which stood out to me the most was the one which was displayed right at the front of the stand and why you asked? Well, it was just a simple metal frame but with a very unusual twist where the nose bridge usually sits. Instead of having the conventional bar which goes across the forehead to join the lenses together, this one is held together by the nose bridge then the two metal piece come to a gradual point to the same level where the eyebrow sits. Where the point meet, there are some delicate jewels which act as decoration. From a distance, it almost looks like a Bindi. If you can’t quite picture what I am saying, check out the image below.

The brand is new to the market, just like most of the brand I have mentioned from my Silmo finding but I like to support new brands. The brand may be new but the founder of the brand has had many years of experience in the eyewear arena and felt it was time to create pieces she wants without restriction by using her own rules. The brand is based in New York but you can check them out here. I am looking forward to seeing more from Gamine, for sure this brand really stuck with me.
