As fashion month has come to an end, it is time to take a closer look and see what eyewear trends we will be seeing more of in 2020. Different fashion capitals will showcase different designers and they all have their own take on what they feel will be the next big thing for the coming season.

After going through lots of catwalk clips and images, MGAM has picked out four key eyewear trends for 2020.

Chain Reaction

Glasses chains are not something new, but for 2020 we are seeing a lot of emphasis on big, bold and chunky chains. The bigger the better. They are certainly not boring glasses chains that just serve a practical purpose. Think of them as statement necklace for your glasses.

Saucer Shades

Are your glasses big enough to hold your cup of tea? No? Then they are not big enough. Glasses that cover your eyebrows down to your cheek bones, or going wide so they look like they are practically covering your ears. They are saucer shades. Think big, think angular and think 70s.

Shield Me

The shield shade is a slightly different version to the saucer shade. Still big, still bold but they wrap around your face. Think ski goggles but with less bulk, the sporty look but with a fashion spin.

The Oddball

Traditionally glasses come in soft round or rectangular shapes but for 2020, we are seeing more out of the ordinary shapes from upside down triangles to a side way fan. Do you dare to break away from the traditional?

Which trend will you be wearing in 2020? I’d love to do the chain trend but I know being a mum, I can’t. My baby will use it as a climbing rope, so I’d like to give the saucer shade a try.
