Ok, the internet went mad because of the Versace show during Milan fashion week S/S 2020. Did you miss it? If so, how did you miss it? The entire internet went into a frenzy because a particular famous face closed the show wearing a very recognisable dress.

Still not with me? Cast your minds back to the Grammy Awards 2000. J.Lo famously wore a very daring jungle leaf-inspired green chiffon dress. Ring any bells? Well, for the Versace S/S2020 show. J.Lo  closed the show wearing a revamped version of that dress. You are either team J.Lo Grammy Awards 2000 green dress or team J.Lo Milan Fashion Week S/S 2020 green dress.  I for one am team J.Lo Grammy Awards 2000.  This is because it was a sexy dress, but still elegant. Let me tell you who was the brains behind that dress… It was couture fashion designer Jorgen Simonsen. So no, it wasn’t a Donatella Versace creation back then.

Jorgen Simonsen first got into eyewear design back in 2013 when he launched a collection with Osiris, and I was at the launch too and met Jorgen himself. What a lovely guy. He has got a powerful passion for eyewear, especially sunglasses.  After chatting to him recently, I learned that he now has his own sunglasses range. It is a super-exclusive range.  They are only produced in very low quantities, so once they are gone, they are gone.

The sunglasses range is more like an accessory which compliments his fashion line.  He produced them because he loves sunglasses and just because he can, so why not? The style of the sunglasses are all super slick, a very minimal look and they are all made out of titanium. The lenses choice also works perfectly with these sunglasses. I haven’t seen them first hand so I cannot comment too much on the quality but looking at the images closely you can see love and care that has gone into these sunglasses, they are beautiful pieces.

The Jorgen Simonsen logo is laser engraved at the top left corner of the lenses. All of the sunglasses come in a hard black logo embossed steel case with a cloth of course. I love the steel case because you see so many fabric-based cases and never really steel. The packaging for the frame is just as important as the frame itself if you ask me. Having a stunning case will make people go “wow” because you know what is inside is going to be special. The sunglasses are priced at €175, and you can order your pair directly from Jorgen himself. Now, THAT is exclusive.
