It was only under a week ago (Saturday 22nd February) that Mido announced the show will be postponed due to the Coronavirus. A very good job the board of Mido decided to postpone because the virus has spread quite quickly in Milan with more places in quarantine. So, thank you Mido for putting everyone’s safety first who was due to attend the show, you’ve helped stop the spread of the virus. It is the biggest show within the optical industry with visitors from all over the world so I am sure it was not an easy decision to make and a lot of reorganising is involved.

When will Mido 2020 be?

After the team worked around the clock, they picked a date that they felt was suitable for the sector and hopefully meets everyone’s needs. The date is 5-7 July 2020. So, it will be one hot Mido because Milan is HOT at that time of the year. Get your sunglasses ready peeps.

Here is a statement from Mido…

“After the decision to postpone MIDO, the wisdom of which we are ever more convinced of after seeing how the emergency has escalated in the past few days and the relative precautions adopted by the Italian government – comments the President Giovanni Vitaloniwe have worked nonstop in the last 72 hours to be able to define the new dates, carefully chosen to meet the needs of the sector. Thanks to the tireless work of the whole staff and to the collaboration with Fiera Milano, we are already able to announce the new dates. In addition to the support of the most important companies, in these hours we have met with our exhibitors, buyers, and stakeholders, because MIDO is the reference point for the sector, and, above all in this delicate moment, it is the reflection of Italian and international eyewear, a unique resource recognized worldwide as an important economic segment for our country. “
