This blog post is a quick optical industry update on shows. First of all, man! I miss going to optical shows. It has been 2 years! 2 years of not attending any shows and that is 2 years of my work being put on hold. It is also a part of my work which I miss the most but hopefully 2022, we will be getting back into the swing of things. It is crazy to think that right now, it should be the busiest time for me with show season kicking off. However, I am firmly staying put for a little while longer as Covid has other ideas and shows are once again postponed until spring time.

First up, we have Opti who announced the move last year before Christmas. The show will now be in May from 13th – 15th May 2022.

Then we have 100% Optical, London based show on home turf. That is moved to 23rd April – 25th April 2022.

Finally, we have Mido which is the biggest show in Europe and they still haven’t had their big 50th celebration due to the pandemic. The show been moved to 30th April – 2nd May 2022.

With all the shows being moved around, it will cause some problems for some of us. Such as Easter holidays so people may be away on holidays. Nevertheless, it will still be something to look forward to for the optical industry. It is something everyone is missing because with glasses, it is a physical product and doing it virtually is not quite the same.
