My Eye-care Routine
What is a good eye-care routine? That is the million pound question because we all have different skin type and certain things may work differently for different people. For me I am purely here to share with you my eye-care routine and if it works for you then great, if not I am sure there are plenty of other options out there.
First of all, on a daily basis I am a firm believer in using an eye-cream around my eyes twice a day, morning and evening. I don’t actually stick to a particular brand, I switch quite often depending on what is on offer or what is new on the market that I want to try. In general I am quite up for trying new things as long as it says “reduces puffiness and dark circles” then I am up for it. I always use my ring finger to apply the eye-cream too, by dabbing, because it puts the least pressure on the skin around your eye. Rubbing it in is a no, no.

Lacura Sleeping Mask
LANEIGE or Aldi Lacura Sleeping Mask?
Every night, before bed I always use some sort of overnight mask too. I used to use the sleeping eye mask by Korean brand LANEIGE but it ran out. However, I have found an alternative which I’m pretty sure it is a copy of the LANEIGE sleeping mask by Aldi Lacura. Yes, of course it is Aldi. ha! The consistency, the texture and everything about it feels the same. Aldi Lacura does advertise it as an overnight sleeping mask and I do use it as that. However, I tend to really slap it on over the eye area to keep the eye zone hydrated. I find that really helps me to reduce puffiness.

Lacura Plumping Face Mask

Apart from that, I also use another Aldi product. It is called Overnight Plumping Face Mask which is supposed to be a copy of the Elemis Plumping Pillow Facial. I have never used Elemis products so I cannot comment how alike they are but this Aldi copy is working out pretty well for me so far. I alternate between the two products but with the Elemis copy, I do not slap it on around the eye area. It is a thicker, heavier in texture so it felt too much for the thinner delicate eye area.
I must admit, I do switch between wearing glasses and contact lenses just to give that area a rest too. Personally, I don’t think it is a good idea for the delicate area to have something heavy sitting on it all the time since my prescription is on the high side. Plus, nose pads or the nose bridges are small so it it is very concentrated pressure constantly around the delicate area too.
In conclusion, give it a try if you are looking for an eye-care routine. One tricky thing I would say is that Aldi’s beauty products don’t get rolled out consistently so you may need to find some alternatives or stock up when you see them on the shelves which is what I do. Ha!
