S/S 2024 Eyewear Trends
Fashion lovers always anticipate September, as it marks the beginning of fashion week, or what I like to refer to as “fashion month.” Fashion week is a month-long fashion extravaganza taking place in various cities, including New York, London, Milan, and Paris. As someone with a fashion background, I am consistently intrigued to discover the upcoming trends for the next season. I’ve been checking out several shows to discover the exciting eyewear trends we can anticipate for S/S 2024. The S/S season never fails to excite me, as it offers a glimpse into the world of sunglasses trend.
Keep in mind that in the fashion industry, collections are always showcased one season in advance. Now, we are entering A/W 2023. The trends for A/W 2023 were revealed back in February 2023. Here is the MGAM report on those trends. It may seem confusing at first, but once you understand the fashion calendar, it is quite easy.
As I browse through the shows, I can’t help but notice three emerging trends that we can expect to see more of in the upcoming S/S 2024 season.
Curvalicious
This trend is all about the curves and the roundedness of the frame, not much straight or sharp lines in sight. In order to perfectly capture this trend, it is essential to make a bold statement with a thick frame. Opting for a small frame would diminish the beauty of the curved contour and compromise the overall appeal.

Broad Rectangle
Rectangle frames are nothing new; we have seen this many times in the fashion scene. They have taken it to the next level for the S/S 2024, completely deviating from the previous season’s trend of going for a small, nostalgic 90s look. This season, they decided to take a completely different approach and embrace a bold, chunky appearance. It is literally go big or go home.

Double Vision
And finally, the doubling up look is one of my absolute favourites. At first glance, it might appear as though two distinct elements have been haphazardly combined. However, after a closer examination, one will realise that this fusion was actually deliberate and purposeful. This may cause people to do a double take, just in case they think they’re seeing double. I believe Dior absolutely mastered this trend because, at first glance, it appeared as though the model was sporting two different frames but of course, she isn’t.

So, here are the eyewear S/S 2024 trend predictions from MGAM, fresh off the catwalk shows. Which one got your vote? Without a doubt, my selection is Double Vision. This innovative masterpiece ingeniously blends various materials, resulting in a mesmerising optical illusion, and I am a firm believer eyewear should always add the wow factor.
