Opti 2024 brands highlights and trends to watch…

Opti 2024 was an eyewear extravaganza, and I’m excited to share my top three standout brands from the event. Amidst a sea of innovation and style, these brands distinguished themselves, offering something truly special. In addition, I’ll unveil an emerging eyewear trend that’s shaping the future of our frames.

1. Klenze & Baum: A Fusion of Design and Technology

Firstly, let’s talk about the German brand Klenze & Baum. What caught my attention was not the glasses themselves, but the striking design of the stand. It had a dark, moody ambiance with a cool vibe that immediately drew me in. When I finally examined the glasses, I was pleasantly surprised. Although I’m not typically a fan of 3D printed eyewear, their latest model was distinctively different, resembling and feeling like a normal acetate pair. Truly awesome! In this case, the importance of stand design is evident, and the same principle applies to optical store design as well. It is essential because it will grab people’s attention to go into your store!

2. Etnia Barcelona: A Kaleidoscope of Choices

Etnia Barcelona is the next brand that caught my attention. As soon as I approached their stand, I was wow by the vastness of their collection. It felt like stepping into a candy store as a kid again. The array of vibrant frames seemed to be calling out to me, beckoning me to try them on. Ha! What truly impressed me about the brand was the sheer number of options they offered. Not only were there numerous choices, but the quality was also commendable. What set Etia Barcelona apart from others was their ability to offer unique and unconventional styles without burning a hole in the pockets of their customers. Among all the amazing options, my absolute favourite was the green pair I was sporting. The sleek black and white pattern adorning the sides added a touch of excitement and gave that vivid green a powerful boost.

3. Blackfin: Redefining Titanium Eyewear

Introducing Blackfin, a brand that goes beyond ordinary titanium eyewear. With their stunningly coloured titanium frames and innovative designs, Blackfin is here to make you take a second glance and be completely awestruck! My personal favourite is their ombre coloured titanium frames, which I’m proudly wearing in the photo. Not only are they absolutely divine, but they are also incredibly lightweight and surprisingly comfortable. Blackfin is sure to revolutionise the way you see titanium eyewear.

Emerging Trend: Subtle Sophistication in Rectangular Frames

An emerging trend to note is the continued dominance of rectangular shapes, but with a twist. The focus is on matte finishes that create a glossy look, featuring neutral tones like skin colours, sage green, and washed-out brown. These understated yet elegant designs are poised to become a staple in eyewear fashion for 2024 and going into 2025.
