Optical Frames Are In – But They’re Getting Smaller
First up—and one we were super excited to see—optical frames! Yes, optical glasses made their way down the runway, proving that specs can be just as much a statement piece as any handbag or shoe.
The key trend? Small and dainty frames. While undeniably chic, this is a tough trend to pull off, and let’s be honest—if you have a high prescription like me, this one might not be for you! These smaller frames work best with thin metal designs, but they can also be recreated in thin plastic for a similar delicate aesthetic.

Criss-Cross Frames – A Play on Structure
Next, we have Criss-Cross Frames, a design-driven trend that works for both optical and sunglasses. The main feature? A nose bridge that overlaps, creating a distinctive cross effect.
This trend works best on larger shapes, as it’s difficult to achieve the criss-cross detail on smaller frames. It’s also a versatile design that can be executed in metal, plastic, or mixed materials, making it a great option for those looking for something stylish yet wearable.

On Guard – A New Take on Shield Shades
Last but definitely not least, we have On Guard, a refined version of the shield shade trend. Unlike traditional shield sunglasses, this version isn’t as big, wide, or aggressively sporty. Instead, On Guard offers a subtle sense of protection while keeping things chic and wearable.
It’s perfect for those who love the futuristic feel of shield shades but don’t want to go full sci-fi visor. Think sleek, modern, and just the right amount of statement.
